Discover Our Mountain Majesty

Talk show super-star Oprah Winfrey once said that St. Lucia's two majestic volcanic plugs, the fabled twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, located south of Soufrière and situated in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are among the top ten things to have in your "bucket list." We couldn't agree more! Every time returning visitors see the Pitons, they often remark that it seems like they are seeing them for the first time, every sighting is mind-blowing. On a full-day excursion to the Pitons, you can hike all the way to the top, noticing everything from the orchids, the hummingbirds, the butterflies, the canopy of trees and one of the most spectacular views you will ever encounter.

October 01, 2018

Welcome to the month-long Arts and Heritage Festival dedicated to celebrating all things Saint Lucian. After its humble beginnings as Creole Day in 1981, the festival has grown exponentially, and now features a variety of festivities beginning on October 1, including theatrical and musical performances, street parties, dance, art exhibits, games, lectures, seminars, and the chance to sample and savor an abundance of the Island’s Creole cuisine. The festival will wrap up on the last weekend of the month after a final, glorious, celebration.

Also, fishermen (and women) from every corner of globe will gather their crews and converge on the Rodney Bay Marina during October 16-20 to compete in the Saint Lucia Bill Fishing Tournament. This week-long, prestigious and international sport-fishing tournament is hosted by the Marina, and provides vigorous competition for this qualifier for the world championships. Spectators should make it a point to be at the Marina at the end of the day to see the impressive displays of huge billfish caught earlier in the day.
