Discover Our Mountain Majesty

Talk show super-star Oprah Winfrey once said that St. Lucia's two majestic volcanic plugs, the fabled twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, located south of Soufrière and situated in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are among the top ten things to have in your "bucket list." We couldn't agree more! Every time returning visitors see the Pitons, they often remark that it seems like they are seeing them for the first time, every sighting is mind-blowing. On a full-day excursion to the Pitons, you can hike all the way to the top, noticing everything from the orchids, the hummingbirds, the butterflies, the canopy of trees and one of the most spectacular views you will ever encounter.

Discover an Underwater World

July 18, 2016

Looking at the blue water around Rodney Bay may have you feeling like spending as much time as possible in it. Scuba diving is definitely a favored activity at the St. Lucia beaches (in part, due to how many native plants and animals still make the region their home), and Eastern Caribbean Divers have a handful of sites in North St. Lucia for you to choose from—close enough to The Landings in Rodney Bay that you won’t have to worry too much about wearing yourself out.

All equipment is provided (including cameras and video cameras that you can use underwater), and there are dives offered for divers at all levels of experience, from brand-new to certified, so there’s definitely an option appropriate for you. With the choice of diving in wrecks, swimming along dive walls, and exploring coral reefs, you’ll also find an option that matches up with what you want to discover in the ocean’s depths. You can also sign up for lessons if you’re feeling a little more serious about becoming a scuba diver or honing your dive skills.

Throughout the various northern dive sites, you may spot octopi, eels, rays, barracudas, and other tropical fish. The wildlife is a little different at each site, so if you’re looking to see as many kinds as possible during your stay, you may even want to consider visiting more than one location. If you find yourself scuba diving at nighttime, that also won’t be a problem. The Berger Rock dive has a flashing navigational aid that makes this location a safe place to dive even after the sun goes down—for a different kind of scuba experience.

Whichever you choose, you won’t be too far away from The Landings, where you can easily return to clean up and even eat a wonderful dinner if you’ve worked up an appetite spending time in the ocean.
