Discover Our Mountain Majesty

Talk show super-star Oprah Winfrey once said that St. Lucia's two majestic volcanic plugs, the fabled twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, located south of Soufrière and situated in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are among the top ten things to have in your "bucket list." We couldn't agree more! Every time returning visitors see the Pitons, they often remark that it seems like they are seeing them for the first time, every sighting is mind-blowing. On a full-day excursion to the Pitons, you can hike all the way to the top, noticing everything from the orchids, the hummingbirds, the butterflies, the canopy of trees and one of the most spectacular views you will ever encounter.

Forty-One Years of Independence in St. Lucia

February 03, 2020

This month St. Lucians prepare to party once again in honor of the island’s Independence Day. As of February 22, 2020, islanders will celebrate 41 years of independence from Great Britain, but of course, we don’t restrict the festivities to a single day. The whole week leading up to the 22nd will abound with patriotic processions, Calypso performances, kite-flying contests, singing, dancing, and so much more. We especially recommend that you check out the February 21st Friday Night “Jump Up” party on Gros Islet. Though this weekly festival of barbecue, street bars, and killer beats is an adrenaline-pumping good time any Friday of the year, on the night before Independence Day, it's guaranteed to be a party you don’t want to miss.
